He Will Lead Us Into All Truth

      And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever–”

         “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” ‭John‬ ‭14:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Holy Spirit Jesus calls the Spirit of truth. There are many lying spirits in the world but if we will learn to follow the Holy Spirit, who resides within us, we will be led to all truth. When I first encountered Jehovah’s Witness when I was in Norway, I did not know what to believe, what they said or what I had been taught in a denominational church. After I heard their presentation I asked for them to give me two weeks to pray about what they said. After they left I asked God for the truth. Was it what they said or what I was taught while growing up. Then I started reading the Bible looking for the truth.

When we only hear one side, it can seem to be right. It is not until we hear both sides of and issue and ask questions about what we heard can we come to the truth. As we look to the Holy Spirit, He will lead us into all truth. We must sometimes wait on His leading, be in the word and sometimes even fast waiting on Him but it is well worth the effort.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be with us forever. He came in us when we were born again and came upon us to empower us for ministry when we were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said here that without the new birth we could not receive the fullness of the Spirit.
