Beloved Son

Devotions:

If we want to receive the life that Jesus walked and walk in the ways of God we must put His word first place.  In Luke 2 Jesus demonstrated that He put the word of God first as He stayed behind in Jerusalem just so He couple converse with the priest and scholars of the Law. And they were amazed at His understanding and knowledge of the word of God. His teacher was the Holy Spirit, the same as our teacher. He had taken time to feed on the word of His Father until the word became real to Him. Jesus was the word made flesh. He was born not of the nature of Adam but of the nature of God. He was God in the flesh. But we have been born of the nature of God when we were born again. So as we feed on the word of God it will resonate in our hearts even as it resonated in Jesus’ heart. We must choose the word of God above all other voices in the world.

The word of God must become flesh in us as we take God’s word for what it is, the word of God, and act like it is real in us and our lives. Our grand adventure every day is to live out the promises of God in our lives. We must experience His promises and not just hold to them religiously but without any power.

We are to behold His love for us daily because He has made us His righteousness. As we behold Him and His love for us we are empowered to demonstrate His glory to a world that dwells in darkness.  In Matthew 4, the temptations of Jesus, Jesus was tempted of the devil to doubt the Father’s love and care for Him. The Father had called Him, “His beloved Son.” Satan referred to Jesus only as the Son and he questioned that reference. Jesus was totally convinced of the Father’s care for Him even when faced with death by starvation. Jesus demonstrated a total trust in the Father’s love.

“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The works that we do must be the Father dwelling in us doing the works.  Do not be sloppy or lazy. Get to know your boss who works with you and through you. Get to know His words and His representative, the Holy Spirit.
