Jesus Is Coming
Devotions:
“Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11 KJV
According to the angels, Jesus is returning to the earth. We know that we are almost two thousand years closer than when the angels said that He would return. Many have expected Him at any moment but He did not return yet. We do not know the day nor the hour though many have tried to predict the time. We cannot know the day or the hour but we can know the season. We seem to be in that season right now. So we are to live like Jesus could come tomorrow and plan like He will not return in our lifetime. We are to live with eternity in mind and not for immediate gratification.
What will you be doing in eternity? If you are born again you will spend eternity doing the will of the Father. This should be our pursuit today. Generally we know that His will is to walk in love with those around us without compromising our beliefs. But to walk in the specific will of the Father for us individually we must hear the leading or voice of the Father. When Jesus returns this is where we want to be, doing the will of the Father as revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
Many Christians that have had death experiences come back with the message, Jesus says that He is coming soon, get ready. This is the filter that we are to judge all of our actions through, Jesus is really returning. Are you ready?
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3 KJV
