His Likeness

Devotions:
“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” Psalms 17:15 KJV
The transformation of our souls happens as we behold the Lord. The psalmist says that he beheld the Lord's face in righteousness. Moses beheld the fading hinder part of the Lord, not even His face and yet his face glowed with the glory of the Lord. Exodus 34. Moses sought the Lord diligently and asked to see the Lord's glory. Moses was acting on his relationship with the Lord. Moses knew God!
Paul says that we have a better righteousness and our countenance will display even more of the glory of the Lord. We must set ourselves apart daily, stand on the righteousness that He has freely given us and boldly come into His presence and fellowship with God. We can know God at a deeper level of intimacy than Moses or the psalmist. If we are married there is a public knowing of our spouse but it does not compare with what happens behind closed doors.
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:6 KJV
One result is that we will be satisfied with His likeness. We will be transformed into His image. We will more and more take on the character of love towards God and towards our fellow man.
