Time With Him

Devotions:

“And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭3:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus sent forth His disciples to do the ministry that He had done.  But in order for them to do this ministry they had to spend time with Him.  He set them aside first to be with Him.  Our ministry that Jesus has ordained we must first spend time with Him regularly.  The closer that we walk in fellowship with Jesus and the Father the more we are equipped to yield to the Spirit of God.  The more we walk with Him the more we understand how God thinks and how God moves that we might cooperate  with Him.  Our ministry is just that, cooperating with Him. When we spend time with Him we walk in the anointing and it is the anointing that does the work of liberating, healing, saving, delivering and revealing God's love to sinners.  Jesus has called us and appointed us unto this ministry and that it would bear fruit, the same fruit that Jesus did.

We then need to spend time with Jesus in His word and in prayer and waiting on Him daily.  We are not spending time with Him so that we will have a powerful ministry but to know Him.  The powerful ministry is a by-product of spending time with Him.  He will show us what is to come and we will just act out whatever He shows us.
