The Lord Is My Shepherd
March 10, 2016
Devotions:
We have been looking at what it means that God said that in the New Covenant He would be our God. He is our provider, He is our healer, He is our leader, He is our wholeness. Now we will see that He is our Lord. Before we were born again we were under the lordship of Satan. This is the heritage which we received from our father Adam. When we received Jesus death for our sins, His burial and resurrection, we changed lordship. Now Jesus is our Lord. Satan tricked us into thinking that we could be our own lord but we were not created to be our own lord so when Adam sinned and rejected the lordship of God, he submitted himself to the lordship of Satan. The destruction and misery which we see all around us is because of the lordship of Satan. Where God is Lord, heaven, there is no sickness, torture, calamity, sighing, crying or death. There is no failure. If Jesus is our Savior, then He is also our Lord. When we understand the issue of lordship and that we cannot be our own lord then we will see the desirability of Jesus' Lordship over us and not the enemy's lordship.
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Psalms 23:1 NASB
Here we see another covenant name of God, Yahwel Roi, Yahweh is my shepherd. As my Shepherd, He takes care of all my needs, He protects me and gives me the victory in the face of my enemies, He anoints me and causes my cup to over flow. Then He sends goodness and mercy to chase me down. This is the Lordship of Jesus, my Shepherd. Renounce the lordship of Satan and receive the Lordship of Jesus. Come under the protection and care of our loving Heavenly Father.
