Blessed to Do His Will

“O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is God's lament over the human race, that we would follow His ways that it would be well with us.  And this is what God accomplished in the new birth.  In Ezekiel 36 God said that He would give us a new heart that wants to do His will and walk in His statutes.  In Jeremiah 31 God says that in the new covenant He would write His laws on our hearts and on our innermost being.  We must choose to believe that about ourselves and other Christians.  We are the temple of the Holy Spirit who is God.  He will not dwell in an unholy, unrighteous place but He dwells in us.  We are to live by that righteous life in us and not by the efforts of our flesh. As we walk in the Spirit we honor the Lord and keep His commandments.  Jesus came and fulfilled every last part of the Law and in the new birth, His presence in us then fulfills the law as we walk by the leading of His Spirit.

If we want our way to be prosperous then we must learn to walk giving priority to the leading of His holy, righteous spirit within us.  He must have control of our tongue, our thoughts ( we drive out evil, unbelieving thoughts), what we look at, He is our Lord and that is a blessing to us.
