Ungodliness; Unprofitable

Devotions:
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8 KJV
Here Paul says that godliness is profitable now and in the life to come. That means that ungodliness us unprofitable now and in the life to come. Sin carries a price tag. We are the forgiven but as we participate in sin, it deadens our ears to be able to hear from the Spirit of God and to follow His leading. This makes us a target of the enemy. Also as we sin we are operating on the enemies territory and are open game for him. And third as we sin our recreated hearts are greatly troubled because we are operating in contradiction of who we are, the righteousness of God.
Satan created sin to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came to deliver us from our sin and give us eternal life. When we choose to walk in sin we choose to be victims of the enemy and he steals from us, kills our relationships and our bodies and tries to destroy our godly heritage.
We then make it our goal to practice godliness in every area of our lives and receive from its profit. We then refuse to compromise with sin but instead, by the power of the Spirit of God within us we put it away. This requires for us to know who we are and that there is no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus. Practice godliness and be blessed.
