To Live Life To It's Fullest

Devotions:
“For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." 1 Peter 3:10-12 KJV
Jesus came to deliver us from our sins. Our sins are what destroy us and make us miserable. Under the Old Covenant they could only have limited success because they still had a sin nature. But under the New Covenant our nature was changed, we became a new creation, old things have passed away. So we are to operate not out of our flesh but out of the power of a resurrected life. Jesus over came all temptation, sin, sickness, disease, all of the curse. He paid the price at the cross and He over came them in His resurrection. This is the new life, the eternal life that He has given us, resurrection life. So out of the power of this life we choose to refrain our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking lies. We resist evil and choose rather to do good. We seek peace, wholeness not just for ourselves but for those around us and pursue it. We know that the Lord delights in us and hears our prayers. This is the path of life. It is not about our doing perfectly but pursuing through the grace of God. Not by our own strength but by the power of God in us.
