God's Gifts Are Always Good
Devotions:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17 KJV
“And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matthew 19:17 KJV
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 KJV
God only has good things for us and only He has good for us. The alternative is the enemy. We think that we can make our own way but we are really controlled by the enemy or God. Why are we so hesitant to believe God and seek to walk with Him. Too often we are seduced by the thrill of the flesh or the need for love and do not realize that only true love comes from God. God wants us to trust in His goodness and know that every evil comes from the enemy. When we can rightly divide the source of our experiences we can then give credit where credit is due.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 KJV
Here Jesus very plainly and simply tells us how to evaluate where things that enter our lives come from. Good from God, bad from the devil. Expect God's goodness to surround you and overtake you. Resist the lies of the devil.
