Divine "YES"
Devotions:
God's definitive answer to us is "YES." He says yes to who He has made us. He says yes to who we are. Even when we sin, He says yes to who we are not to what we do. God is always ready to believe the best about us. Many times in Christianity we get the impression that God is just looking for even the least mistake in us to condemn us. But this is not true, all of our mistakes, sins, were paid for by Jesus dying on the cross. As we receive what Jesus has done we too are born again from the dead like Jesus.
“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:22-23 KJV
Peter says that we are to purify our souls by obeying the truth. What truth? That God is for us, all our sins are forgiven by Jesus bearing them on the cross for us, and that He has given us His divine nature, the incorruptible seed.
God's Divine "YES" is because of the abundant provision He has made for our salvation in Christ Jesus. This is a "YES" for all of mankind because Jesus died for all. Humans still have to accept God's "YES" that is in Jesus on the cross. This is not the great teacher Jesus, this is not the great prophet Jesus, but this is the Jesus who died for all of our sins, transgressions and iniquities and paid the full price for our all of our sins and was raised from the dead victorious when we were made righteous. This is our message to the world, God's Divine "YES!"
