God's Provision

Devotions:
“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalms 34:8-15 KJV
We have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. We are to act on that righteousness and taste and see that the Lord is God, in fact He is the only good in the universe and He is only good, no evil dwells with Him.
“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10 KJV
“You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name.”
Deuteronomy 6:13 NASB
Here Jesus interprets fearing the Lord as worship. In the Psalms 34 David defines the fear of the Lord as walking in love with each other, not speaking any evil or deceit, departing from evil and doing good and pursuing peace that wholeness of others. In this we are honoring the Lord for who He is. We are choosing to believe in the goodness of our God towards as reflected in our blessing those around us.
As we seek the Lord He supplies our every need. His abundant supply is not a reward for seeking Him but when we seek Him we are expressing faith that He is the one who abundantly blesses us and we put ourselves in the posistion to receive that supply. When we look to other methods for our supply, like our own efforts, manipulations, abilities then we are turning our back on God's supply so we will miss the supply when He sends it because we do not believe He will send it.
God in His goodness wants us to look to Him exclusively to receive the full blessing that He has for us. His promise is that if we look to Him we will never lack. His provision is that He provides for our every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
