Praise

        “And Elisha said, “ As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. But now bring me a musician.” Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.”  ‭II Kings‬ ‭3:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

        “So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.”  ‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

        “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” ‭Acts‬ ‭10:38‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
        With out the anointing of the Spirit of God we can do nothing.  All of Jesus' ministry and the great works that He did was through the anointing of God. He did no mighty works until He was filled with the Spirit when He was baptized by John in the Jordan River and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove.  The same infilling of the Holy Spirit is for the believer today.  It is the anointing to do the work of God.  But even after the initial infilling there are subsequent fillings.  We cannot fulfill God's plan for our lives without this power from on high. 

        Elisha was anointed with a double portion of the Spirit that was on Elijah.  When Jehoram the evil king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the King of Judah and the King of Edom approached Elisha for counsel, Elisha said that he would not even consider the King of Israel if it were not for the presence of Jehoshaphat. So Elisha called for a minstrel to play and sing inorder for the anointing to come upon him so he could prophesy for Jehoshaphat. 

        Here is the secret, in praise and worship the presence of the Lord comes.  In the New Covenant we can not only sing anointed praise and worship songs but also sing in tongues and the anointing will come.  Before you pray, praise and worship with your understanding and in tongues until the anointing comes then pray in the power of the Lord and see the results come.
