Obedience

Devotions:
Obedience to God is very important but if our obedience is out of fear of God's anger then it is not the type of obedience God wants. God wants us to obey out of our believing in His love for us. God does not manipulate us with threats to destroy us if we do not obey. Then He would have our actions but not our heart. when we serve Him out of love for Him then He has our hearts and our actions.
“The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.” Jeremiah 31:3 NASB
When we believe in His love for us it creates love in our hearts for Him. We love because He first loved us. When we love Him we will keep His commandments. WE do not keep His commandments because we do not love Him. We do not love Him because we do not believe in His love for us. But He has clearly demonstrated His love in Jesus Christ.
We must know that it is more profitable, expedient, blessed for us to walk in obedience. There is no good aside from God. God is the wisdom that makes all human wisdom look like foolishness. Our wisdom cannot compare to the wisdom of God. When we disobey what God says we are saying that our wisdom is greater than God's and like the snake told Eve, nothing bad will happen to us. That was a lie then and it is a lie now. There are conquences to sin.
“For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
Romans 8:14 NASB
As God's Spirit leads us He empowers us to obey by His presence within us. When we disobey we side with the enemy who came to steal, kill and destroy. God does not want us to be destroyed. We must believe in His love for us. John 3:16
